Fuddruckers@Al Wahda Mall, Abu Dhabi

If you're a big fan of burgers and salads, you'll love this restaurant. Fuddruckers is one of our favourite restaurants in Abu Dhabi, offering wide range of burgers and salads. Usually we will eat at Marina Mall branch after penat berwindow shopping. But last two weeks, we went there and this branch was temporarily closed for renovation.. frust sangat , dah la tengah lapar. So, we decided to try the one at Al Wahdah Mall. I forgot to snap the pictures of the food, because I was too hungry. This time we've ordered a kid's meal and a burger complete with salad (salad boleh tambah2 itu yang best). Kononnya berdiet that's why Ummi and Abi were sharing the meal. Memang sedap!

Delicious Nasi Padang in Abu Dhabi

Have you tried an Indonesian food known as Nasi Padang before?

We had our first encounter with this dish in one of the restaurant in Bali 2 years ago and were pleasantly surprised when the waiter immediately proceeded to serve all the lauk-pauk in small serving with a plate of steam rice. And there we were sitting comfortably waiting for someone to take our orders...heh. At the end of the meal the waiter came and note down whatever we have eaten.

So last weekend was an opportunity to wet our tastebuds again when we had our special guest from Sharjah, Kak Zu and family, who came all the way to Abu Dhabi to try nasi padang at Sari Rasa Restoran. This restaurant is located behind Al Reyami Building, right in front of Abu Dhabi Mall. Parking was horrendous but we are so lucky to get a couple of nice spots quite close to the restaurant, which location might not be immediately visible from the main road. It is small and cosy restaurant but one have to go down to the basement to access all the the mouth watering dishes and the main dining hall. We arrived at 230pm and the restaurant is almost empty. Good timing!

There are plenty of sumptious dishes displayed besides the counter and it is ala-ala foodcourt di Uniten. Ambil nasi and lauk and show to the person at the counter. I had the rice with ikan bakar, terung masak sambal and a begedil for Luqman. Really yummy! I love this restaurant.. Kak Zu and family also enjoyed the food very much. Abi opted for nangka masak lomak, ayam goreng, sambal ikan bilis (his favourite) and sayur kerabu.

And for desserts we've ordered es campur. Its like ais kacang but without the ais sagat..it has cincau, nata de coco and avocado in it with 2 ketul of ice.. nice and sweet :). Average price for one person is around Dhs 30, which is ok for me. (Lagipun Uncle Zaf yang belanja...hehe)

That night we went to Khalifa Park to see the much publicised funfair and circus galore. Much to our disappointment there were limited rides and fun activities for the children. But all is not lost....I've won a teddy bear for the first time in my life! Yeayyy....

Happy Anniversary Abi & Umi

Tomorrow is Umi's and Abi's 2nd anniversary and tonight we went to a newly open restaurant 'Ushna' which serve the Indian Cuisine. This restaurant is located in Souq Qaryat Al Beri near to Shangri La Abu Dhabi. Actually there was a Dhs 100 coupon from Time Out Abu Dhabi for a dinner in Ushna that's why Umi was so eager to go there.

Ushna is a very high class restaurant and had a very great decor. The waiters were friendly too. Abi had prawn briyani and umi had chicken tandoori. The foods were marvellous and expensive too but luckily we had a coupon :) we only paid an extra Dhs 100 for our dinner.

We had a great night and I am happy to be with Abi and Umi.

Makan2 with Abi and Ummi @ Suria Brasserie

Salam everyone.

Suria Brasserie at Eclipse Hotel is one of the most commonly known Malaysian eateries and hangout place here in Abu Dhabi. This time I want to share my experience jalan2 cari makan here with dear Ummi and Abi. Don't you just love their signage......

But the food is taking too long...so I tried to help myself with Ummi's triple fruit juice for starters but she was fast to act and help prevent a major fiasco with the drinks.

Later Abi explained to me to always be cool and wait for the food to be served first. We waited eagerly for the food to arrive before reciting du'a makan and enjoying our meal. Ummi had Beriyani Chicken while Abi had Nasi Lemak antarabangsa..yum yum. Guess what I had... a lousy piece of apple which I accidentally dropped halfway through sucking it....takdak rezeki la tu.
